Don't Talk To The Cops' Emecks

Happy friday night. Some grooves for you to move to.

Don’t Talk to the Cops- “Girls Buy Me Drinks”

Royksopp- “Someone Like Me”

A track off of Norwegian band Royksopp’s 2005 album The Understanding. It’s got that eerie Savage Garden-like sound “Bluish” (Animal Collective) has.

Grimes- “Oblivion”

It’s impossible not to fall in love with Claire (Grimes). She hates being called adorable (“Think of how condescending that is”), but I can see how she gets that a lot. Her clear passion for what she’s doing is reflected in the playfulness of her music and live performances, and often comes across as being well… adorable. And by that I mean she is hard not to adore.

Mariah Carey- “You’ll Always Be My Baby”

…I just had to.

Active Child- “Hanging On (White Sea Remix”

Sure to make you melt.

Bear in Heaven- “Do You Do”

Get excited… Bear in Heaven is releasing a new album in April. This track is from their 2009 album Beast Rest Forth Mouth.

Yuki by Jamie Carlson, debuting on April 3

On April 3, I will be debuting my graduation collection at The Show in Richmond. I have created a line I’m calling Yüki (my middle name, meaning ‘snow’ in Japanese) which is geared towards textile-loving woman over 55 with an appreciation for high-end fabrics and fashion-forward silhouettes. So far, it’s been 6 months in the making, so please come to the show to support me and the 31 other emerging designers who are graduating from the Bachelor of Fashion Design program this year.

The show will be taking place on April 3 at the River Rock Casino at 1 pm, 3:30 pm and 7:30. The daytime shows are both $15, and the evening is $35 (the evening show always sells out). Tickets from the show can be purchased online HERE, or physical tickets can be purchased through myself (who you can contact at jamieyuki@gmail.com)

Show your support on Facebook by “liking” our page HERE.

See you on April 3!

There Are No Innocent Bystanders: A Libertines Documentary by Roger Sargent

The Boys In The Band by Roger Sargent

I was starting to wonder if it was ever going to happen, but finally the day has arrived. Someone has made a proper documentary about The Libertines, and who better to do it than Roger Sargent (a photographer who has closely followed the bands career over the years, and co-author of a fantastic Libs biography). The documentary, titled ‘There Are No Innocent Bystanders” will be shown in select theatres in the UK (bollocks) and is available to buy on DVD.
